    180K service costs

Has anybody been stung with the outrageous service costs for the 180K service for a MKV GTI DSG?
I have been quoted over $1400 for this service.
Is this normal or should I look elsewhere.

They are claiming that a major service of the DSG must be done at this time or else they wont stamp my service log book.
As I intent to upgrade later this year or early next I didn't want to spend too much more on this car.

    Thanks

Major service every 4years/60,000km which included DSG oil change.

Shop around. That price sounds like a dealer. You should be able to get that service done at a good independent for well under $1,000.

180K is everything except the timing belt.

Fuel filter, air filter, pollen filter, DSG oil and filter, spark plugs, in addition to the engine oil and filter.

I was quoted just around $1000 for a major service on my Mk5 GTI DSG.
