Question 07 Jetta BKD Timing Belt

    Hi All,
I have a 07 Jetta TDI with the BKD engine. It is due for 110km timing belt and water pump service. Can anyone recommend where to buy the parts from please? or the part numbers? Is it worth while getting them for over seas? Any help would be much appreciated, I love my Jetta, but I don't want it to cost a fortune to service. Many thanks.

You don't have to buy the parts. Give Jmac a call, he is in the forum and will replace your timing belt and everything that need to be replaced.

Is 110 when they are recommended to be done? I recently purchased mine and have been trying to work this out. My 07 TDI Jetta has done 165km and there is not indication in the service manual that it has been changed... even though t has been serviced at a VW dealer up to about 150km.
Is there any way to check if the timing belt has been changed?

It should be done at 105,000km. The dealer who serviced it will have the record if the t/belt was done.

IMO the timimg belt is one item that should be done the moment it is about due, skimping here could be disastrous financially. I have seen it happen to a couple of friends' vehicles with non-interference engines who had kept putting off their replacement or was ignorant of t belt changes, and its not a pretty sight
