Even if I drove a RS, and was in a position to receive a company car, I'd have to very seriously consider all the options. Given I wouldn't want to drive the RS shopping to avoid damage, it wouldn't get driven and then I sail on Saturdays, so the car would parked outside in a carpark or on the side of the road, where quite frankly I'd rather leave a company car. In my circumstances, I'd have to keep the memories of the RS and sell it.

I'm sorry to go on about it, but it's pretty difficult for someone to comment on the circumstances of another individual just because you don't agree with it. When we bought Mum's forester, I took a fair bit of crap from some people as it isn't the sort of the car that they would buy - but you buy a car, (or sell) depending on your own individual circumstances. I'm sure i'd take crap from them as well if they knew we've ordered a Diesel Wagon, but it suits our needs.

Apologies to the OP and other posters for the hijack. Good luck to the OP in his search for a Skoda - you won't be disappointed with a RS.
Not taken cuz it's not my situation (i dont have an RS) and I won't enforce it on others. Like I said, anything is possible, and if there are someone out there who would like to keep a company Holden and forfeit a near new RS and lose $10-15k of hard earned cash, that's good. Other people's loss is your gain! I never say it won't happen, and I've never advise the OP to definitely go for a demo. As the OP is desperate for a car cus his old car was written off, I was just suggesting that he may have to look for a demo or settle with something a bit older, as the chances of someone with a perfect near new RS, who is happy with it, then had to sell it because he got a new job and new company car and has no space for a second car, that he had to sell it and lose $10-15k (or company pay for the loss), is pretty unlikely, but certainly not impossible! If the OP have found a car the car that fits his description, then I'm happy for him! Because he would have picked up a good bargain!!

I envy you that your wife would let you do that! But if your wife don't interfere with what car you buy, "wife hates it" cannot be the reason you sell a near new car

Absolutely - That'd be a great result if he could find a car within that range.

Told the girlfriend I was getting a new car, she wouldn't talk to me for a day because she absolutely LOVED the 2011 Sorento I was trading in.
Practicality over matter, though. I'd keep taking it offroad and the possibility of bending things I couldn't afford to replace was too high.

She took one look at it, said "Oh. Its a daddy car." (wagon), then got in and after I put my foot down absolutely loved it.

She won't drive it because its too long.

    Hi Guys

Just an update to my post. Picked up a 2010 model in Candy White with 15000kms. Could have bought silver with lower kms but the white is a beauty. Its like new and spotless. Mind you, the wife was insistant on getting it as she was a fan of our previous GTI.

Haven't had time to take pics yet as picked it up late last night, but happy with first impressions!
