    Window shade

Hi guys, I have a newborn and want to reduce the brightness and temp of sunlight hitting my daughter while in the rear-facing capsule. What do you guys use?

    Thanks.

I used a good quality window tint for the whole car but if you want more you can get those specially tailor made sunshades.

i've been in pursuit of the perfect window shades - haven't had any luck with the roller types so far.
    suction versions suck....unfortunately not literally!!!
i've got clip versions now, but they don't cover the rear window nicely.

i have my eyes on these, but i can't justify spending $150-230 for shades!!!

superskoda version - Octavia II 04-13 Limousine - 3pcs set of sun/privacy/bug shades
total cost (incl. shipping) is approx. $220 AUD!!!

ebay version - Skoda Octavia 5dr 04- CAR SUN SHADES BLINDS TINT
total cost (incl. shipping) is approx. $180 AUD!!!

I have the maximum legal tint and have the same issue with the kids. I didn't want a sock so stumped up for the the ebay versions.

The shades themselves are good but I had problems with the vendor. They sent the incorrect clips (twice), then claimed that the clips I needed are not longer made. When I told him I would contact fair trading in the UK they got off their butt and sent the correct clips.

With the correct clips the shades are great.

An alternative I've seen since is putting perforated vinyl (like the kind used for wrapping cars) on the window. A relative has this on his lexus and its very discrete.

The final option is to just put an illegal tint on the back. I know many on here will wax lyrical about insurance not paying out etc etc but I still think it may be an acceptable solution to some.

I've got the window socks on my octavia wagon and they fit and work brilliantly. Keeps the temp down and the sun out of the little ones eyes. Have never had a problem with them lifting of flapping at speed. Had to order them from overseas as they weren't stocked in aus. Just need to follow the directions and give the Velcro strips time to set properly.

Yeah, I'm with FOT, I have the sunprotect window sox. $50ish delivered for a pair. They offer great protection and they are silent because they fit so well (I've also got dark tints). Delivered in about a week. Downside is, they are a sock over the window and they make the back seat much darker (we have a soft mirror above the baby seat and its now hard to see his face).

I have had the perforated sheet on my previous vehicles and they serve the purpose and am told they are legal too. I am thinking of doing the same on vRS.

You can get good ones here for £75. I've asked what delivery will be. Have a memory of someone saying about $30.
