    Dumb question, why are they called Octavia? Because they are the eighth.........?

    I just found another forum which stated that the 1959 Octavia was the eighth model produced by Skoda - seems to make sense to me?

    Octavia is I think the daughter of one of the julio claudians, Augustus Caesar, Octavius to his friends. (think Julius Caesar's successor) Perhaps they were trying to conjur up visions of empirical nature (or they really enjoyed the movie Calligula - didn't we all!).

    Forgive me if I'm wrong, it might have been the daughter of Tiberius, Tacitus and year 12 history are long in the mirror...
