MY11 - No problems so far and i have 23,500kms on the clock.
Interesting statement from buzuki that he/she sees more problems on VW than Skoda.

Not surprising, same goes for a lot of rattles.....i deliberately didn't get the DSG because of all the complaints I always saw on here with VW/Audis with them. Always interesting that the same parts can have different outcomes...goes to show its still down to the workers...

35,000 and no probs on my tsi Octavia.

Would be interesting to know if there is any correlation between 'spirited' driving and DSG failures.

Yeah i work at a dealer, cant tell you exactly what happened, as we dont open them up, just replaced then on an exchange basis. 1 would have been a serious mechatronics problem which led to gear failure, it seemed it wasnt disengaging clutches when selecting/changing gear so plenty of crunching/stalling and a nice pile of metal in the oil sample we took.

Another is cruching gears, also plenty of metal in the oil. All 7 speeds too.

Maybe there are more VWs around than Skodas?

60,000km on my 125TDI Superb and no problems.

Happy to be corrected, but wouldn't all the DSGs be the same regardless of if its a Skoda/VW. I doubt they are using different internals or software? Guessing they just turn up at the factory on pallets and get bolted on at station x

    DSG, 20000k's and no problems.

Hmm, you probably didn't read the original post.

Where the car is put together can have a big impact on its quality.

I have an 09 TDI RS and I've always had a feeling that my DSG has something wrong with it, especially when gearing down from 3rd -
2nd, it can be a real rough change which can jolt the car a bit. Travelling at slow speeds (around 40-50km) it feels like it can't just stay in a particular gear, instead it's jumping from 3-4, 4-5, 5-4, 4-3 which makes the ride very frustrating.

I've mentioned it to Skoda twice now, they run their tests and keep telling me everything is fine. I've still got 4 months left on warranty and wouldn't mind getting it properly looked at.
I'm spoken to my local VW dealer who advised they can look at it but can't action any warranty repairs

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Would anyone with a DSG TDI RS be willing to meet up so I could test mine against theirs? (South - East suburbs in Melbourne)

    Cheers

Have had just one incident at about 19,000 km while going through a right-hand turn on trailing throttle. The display indicated that 4th gear was selected but when I put my foot down I got a false neutral, much revving but not much else. I immediately backed off for a moment which restored the connection between the engine and the wheels. I'm assuming that I may have caught the DSG out in the millisecond where it was deciding whether to shift up or down, and maybe both clutches were disengaged for a moment. Otherwise perfect before this and ever since.
Skoda Superb Elegance Wagon 2.0 TDI DSG, Storm Blue Metallic, Glamour Ivory - Onyx floor, Panoramic roof, False floor, 3 spoke steering, Roller blinds, MDI, KESSY, Power tailgate, Tow bar - delivered and in service as of February 23rd. They didn't tell me there was no Bluetooth - grrrr.
