Petrol or diesel? vRS or TDI/TSI?

Get brake pads from the guys at Brakes Direct. See what they recommend for your car, but ive had 2x sets of Remsa pads from them and they are excellent - work brilliantly and much less dust than the stock pads.

Yes, you'd need to be a bit more specific. I've done a PD type TDI belt etc ·there are a couple of pulleys that you change when you do the belt) and it was fairly easy, but I have been doing my own cars for over 30 years. You'll need a few special tools too. Kit cost about $150 and tools under $50 so well worth DIY.

    Thanks guys,

sorry, its a TDI 2.0 PD i think... engine code is bkd 103kW (not common rail or DPF, same as Mk5 Golf TDI i think). I shouldnt have any dramas doing the job, I have a bit of experience with timing belts. Where is a good place to source the belt kit and tools?

THanks for the lead on pads, will order them now!

    cheers

I have a PD TDI too (a BMM one though). The $150 price I gave above was from 2012, but I looked on eBay and there's a kit that also has a water pump for $210. Toolkit is about $40.
