Thanks for the advice everyone. The high temperature is not a regular thing, I just noticed it on the first occasion that I drove up the Clyde Mtn with the trailer. And that shouldn't be regular either - maybe 3-4 times a year at most.
So, at this stage I won't panic but when I drive the mountain with the trailer on I WILL be watching the oil temp.

My car hasn't got an oil temp gauge and I don't think I'm missing out not having one. If you didn't have the gauge, you wouldn't look at it & would continue to drive up Clyde Mountain in blissful ignorance. One of the reasons I didn't fit the Kufatec kit.
We've even had a few cars now without a water temp gauge. Blue light for cold, no light for "hammer it", red light for "somethings wrong".

My comments where just based on 15 years of motor racing experience where the oil temp was always measured in the Pump or Sump so you are getting the average, of course the oils going to be intensely hot when its sprayed up underneath the piston to the gudgeon pin area, but these cars have oil coolers, although small, but they do a decent enough job.
