    What Generation?

What VAG generation or version are our late model Octavia VRS cars based on? I assume VW Mk5?

Want to know/understand for parts compatibility

    Cheers

pre-FL models are similar to MK V, FL models are similar to MK VI.

Its a mk5 platform car. The engine choice was updated along with the mk6 golf engines but as the mk6 is mostly a mk5 anyway (drivetrain compatibility and suspension) then really its all mk5.

The mk6 golf is really not much more than a facelift mk5

Yep, as I understand, ours are mainly "golf 5" reworkings....

    Thanks a lot guys!

I'm looking at parts compatibility - suspension & brakes
As well as after market products which don't list Skoda so I need to relate to a VW platform/version

for suspension - probably wont matter much for something like coilovers, but for spring kits and shock absorbers, spring/damping rates need to be octavia (and model) specific as the weights are quite different. Theres a thread in this section about aftermarket springs already.
