Also some say that for 2011, the petrol engine can run on 95 RON unleaded. Which I'm not sure if it applies to RS but I would recommend to everyone to stick with h/o premium fuel, which will give you better fuel economy, so there is no real saving from using cheaper fuel and IMO, it's not good for the engine, if you always fill up with 95RON unleaded.

it does say on the fuel cap that 98 ron is recommended, and min is 95 ron.
that's because it's the newer TSI engine.
with the older TFSI engines, only 98 was recommended.

95 RON is premium, until I got the Skoda in 2008, the only 98 around was BP and Shell, Caltex was only just putting in Vortex 98 and Mobil much the same. They all had 95...which is still premium.

Mine is the pre FL 2008 , flap says min 95 , recommended 98 , have used both could not tell any diff in power , consumption well ? .

Now i have APR stage 1 can only use 98 .
