its not night and day difference, but I do notice some difference.
in addition to that, I put the sound deadner carpet under he boot floor cover (that big black square thingy-ma-jig).

I would've liked to have put more under the rear seats, but I couldn't do much as it required the removal of the side door trim & panels.

with regards to the rear seat - u can easily remove the seat base, as per brad's comments.
the seat back, on the otherhand, is more work - I haven't bothered with that.

Ive got a wagon, and I put strips of the foil deadener over the floor and sides... best way to use it is stick it in the centre of areas of metal/body as thats what creates the hum/noise when driving.. coverage for this was around 40% at most...

I then stuck thick sound deadener (thin layer of real dense material with foam on each side) all over the floor and sides, over the wheel arches and underneath the rear seat.

Definitely made alot of difference and I would like to do the same underneath the front seats and inside front doors...

I've done deadener twice (both times in sedans).

Rear wheel arches and the spare wheel well seem to make the biggest difference to noise. Both times I completely covered the entire rear (from back of seats, across wheel arches, the entire floor and including inside the wheel well). First time I did pieces at a time and drove to see what made a difference. Ended up doing the lot. Second time I just did the lot.

Front doors also make a decent difference (help sound quality a lot too!)

I will get around to doing this Octavia eventually. I buy dynamat extreme bulk packs from eBay for around $200 ea which does the entire boot. If I can be confident of not setting sensors off in the front doors, I'll do those also.

In the Octavia tyres make a big difference to noise. The conti cs2s mine comes with while decent for grip are noisy when they wear. I'll replace them with ps3s once they are worn and get a decent drop in noise when I do.

There are lots of things you can do, depends how much you want to spend

99Reza.. I got the rear sill trims from Superskoda.
The instructions (in Czech) appear to show a template for positioning them. How did you do it? Or was it obvious due to the fitted curve? The fact there is a template would suggest it might need one to get it right...

I haven't actually checked myself yet how they fit but I just thought I'd ask for any tips now so I'm all ready to go tomorrow.

    Cheers.

Nick, mine didn't come with template. I just alligned them with the curve, you may want to dry fit them first to work out the gap from the curve.

Thanks.. Mine didn't come with the template either but there is a picture of one in the instructions. Just thought I'd ask if there were any tricks before I start.

Got my car back today from Tough Tints Ballarat, they did an excellent job on installing ceramic window tinting (clear film on sunset windows, 38% on other windows), XPEL film on the bumper bar, front of the hood, mirrors to limit stone chip damage and finally paint protection after they had cleaned and clay barred the car. You can see my car on their face book page (its the metal gray wagon), they even have pictures of how they apply the xpel film. Very happy with the service from Ashleigh.

    Hi reza.

How did you go getting them off, and what did you clean the tape off with?

    Hair dryer or heat gun

    Fishing line or dental floss.

    Eucalyptus oil or WD40
