In China, they have 3 generations of the Jetta.
The Jetta 2 is called Jetta
The Jetta 4 is called the Bora
The Jetta 5 is called the Sagitar.

The Jetta 4,5,and 6 are all sold in Mexico

The Jetta 4 and 5 are sold alongside each other in the whole of South America.

The Jetta 6 will be out locally mid year in 2011...and the current model is still selling strongly locally and overseas.

I was looking at the 147 Jetta, but lack of manual and the pretty small boot opening compared to the Octy hatch was a dealbreaker. I was also hearing a lot of not so good things about the Vws from Mexico and the rattles from SA made Golfs, so went the safer route with the SKoda.

i felt the same way too.
the jetta infact has a large boot for its class & size - scoring 527L; but the small boot opening kills it. sadly a common trait with sedans

i drove the dsg 147tsi a while ago....they were good fun. no paddle shift though do they have it now?
dealer was asking $55k with xenon, charleston 18s, & leather options!!
    yikes!!

I'm paying just under $45k, with leather, paddle shift steering wheel, bluetooth, mdi, stainless pedals. They had a promo at the moment with free on road costs. Not too bad.

Hopefully around the start of October - even though the car is in stock now, they technically can't deliver it to me until then, as that's when I start my new job. Because it's being purchased under a hire purchase agreement, apparently I can't take delivery of it before then

That's a bit of BS, I arrange my own HP finance and had a car two days later, and a week before starting at my new job. The car effectively is to do with you and not the company, as long as you have signed a contract etc to work at the new place, you are good to go. If you leave the car still goes with you.
