My first thought is: was your window closed all the way?
So after a few nights heavy rain, I hopped in my 2008 Skoda Octavia elegance and noticed that the 'A' Pillar on the drivers side and the foot well are damp. So some how the water entered my car and I am not quite sure how. The Pillar seemed to be more wet than the floor, but only the bottom half just above the dashboard was wet. It looks like it started there and dripped down to the foot well. but iam not 100% sure.
I checked the sunroof drain pipes, and they seem to be working fine. There is no obvious build up of leaves and dirt around the scuttle trim. I have not checked below the scuttle as I am afraid to snap it while trying to remove it. The door seals look to be in pretty good condition as well
Any Ideas? Has this happened to anyone else?

Yep, it was. That was the first thing I checked.

VWVortex.com - Help, New Tiguan, water leak in passenger footwell
Thread bump.
Unfortunately my octavia RS facelift has experienced the same problem (2008 build). Was getting a fairly strong mould smell from the car - took it into the dealership. was told that water seemed to be getting into the car. After a couple days of checks I've just been told that water was getting in via the sunroof (they've had the car for the past 2 days) - Will be in for a few days yet from the sounds of it
Might be worth anyone else with an 08 octavia + sunroof to keep an eye out for any signs of unwanted water entry!
Mine went through a phase of leaking on the drivers door in wet weather while driving. I suspect that a car wash put something like Armorall around the door seals and caused it. It eventually stopped and went back to normal. I think the slickness allowed capillary action to carry water through the where the two rubber seals meet in to the interior.
