throttle valve (?) replaced under warranty

I have a 2008 diesel RS wagon with DSG and the MFD said "engine fault" on 24 Dec (yea!). But I was able to get it into Lennock Skoda in Canberra before they closed for the holidays. They had it for a few days over Christmas but the throttle valve was replaced under warranty and I haven't seen any warning lights since then.

And I have to give a big to Colin at Lennock because he gave us an Octavia to use for those few days over Christmas. We had all of my wife's family coming to Canberra for Christmas and it would not have worked if we had been down one car.

So all potential Canberra customers listen to me: BUY A SKODA FROM COLIN (because he's a great guy)!

Today I put my Skoda 118 TSI for service at Rick Damilian (15,000 first service). They proceeded to charge me $440 for a bit of black fluid and a sump plug. But as mentioned in many threads, a lot of Audi/VW service centres refuse to touch Skodas so I was forced to the dealer over a barrel, as it were.

Just one minor issue, driver's door side a/c vent won't shift left or right using the adjuster. They've ordered a part from the Czech Republic!

Not the least bit fussed the car is solid. Looking forward to a bit more torque after an ECU map due soon.

My Superb was delivered with the same vent broken. It took 3 months for the replacement part to arrive.

Wow thats over the top , mine was $340+ , 2 years service $280+ and inc oil .

You will love the ECU upgrade , was out flying around the hills today , so relaxed , and yet urgent when needed.

Give Northshore Skoda a call for a quote on your next service.

There is something wrong there. The 15k/1 year service is cheaper than the 30k/2 year service. $340 is in the ball park for a 15k service.
You either didn't go to a Skoda dealer for the 30k service or they didn't do the full job but there is no way a 30k service will come in under a 15k one.
The two year service includes things like pollen filters and a brake fluid change.

Yes I did think the price was over the top for oil and a half hearted wash. I'll definitely try North Shore next time.

I'm not fussed about the air vent, I can still adjust it by poking a pen through. Interesting that a superb came new with the same issue. I bought mine 6 months old second hand, perhaps it has been there since new too.
