Make sure that the cable is fully inserted into the jack

I suspect that's a set up issue with the MFD. Just go into the MFD options and look at the door lock settings.

Mk6 Golfs also come with this "feature".

How do you manage to get warranty done at an Audi dealer?

I wanted my N75 issue looked at by a conveniently located, local VW/Audi dealership & Skoda said tough luck - have a day off work & attend a Skoda dealer. Unless I get another dealer able to do warranty that is convenient to work (Campbelltown, NSW) then I doubt I'll buy another Skoda.

It might be like Richmond in Melbourne, they are a combined Audi/Skoda dealership so they service both makes.

Got mine via a novated lease and the lease coy said that any "registered" mechanic could service the vehicle.

Brad - As Kiwi said, the Newcastle Audie Service Centre looks after both Audi & Skoda with regards to servicing ( although separate show rooms) , and these guys know their stuff. I rate these guys - They give me a courtesy car free of charge ( another Skoda ) for the day, they text me the day before reminding me of any bookings I've made. They call me as soon as any warranty parts or parts I've ordered have come in to make a booking to fit them. Their customer service is spot on in my books.

That's the legal position regarding warranty coverage but that does not mean that an individual workshop has to service the vehicle if they don't want to and many Audi/VW workshops won't service Skodas.

After having to get the drivers door reattached in the correct spot, have the harmonic balancer and drive belts replaced and the generally piss poor interior/panel quality of my 8,500km old VE2 SSV I was thinking of getting an Octavia instead, hoping the quality issues wouldn't exist. This thread makes me sad lol. My Holden dealer has been surprisingly good, though. Which is... surprising...

The RS I test drove earlier this year had a fluttering sound from the passengers side AC vent. Sorta as if there was some paper stuck in a fan.

Well I hope this thread doesn't deter prospective buyers away from the Octavia's. We've had our RS for 4 months now and done 9,000kms - not a single problem at all. Runs absolutely fantastic.

Used to own a BF XR6T and the quality is such a huge difference...get a Octavia SSVR and you won't be disappointed

Sixteen months, 32,000km and no issues - unless you count the small nail in the OSR tyre.
