Warning - check the dealers pricing for your annual service

Last year I posted about the local Adelaide dealer 'accidentally' trying to charge me about $130 more than the official capped price service fee and the same thing happened again this morning booking the car's 2nd annual service.

Since they have not rectified the 'computer pricing error' I reported in detail last year to the dealer and to Skoda H/O, I recommend that you check any dealer service quote.

The only problems I experience with the car disappear with the cooler autumnal/winter weather.

1. I have reported before that the car experiences hesitation/stuttering on small throttle and during in-gear acceleration hesitation for the first few hundred metres. There is also a hollow gasping gurgling noise during gear changes reminiscent of Darth Vadar's dying breaths.
Today the temperature was much lower and the car ran normally from start, no gasping, and fuel consumption was markedly lower than during the issues. Weird or what? Dealer could not find anything when I dropped it into them last year.

2. The dreaded B-pillar rattle at around 1800-2000 rpm is only apparent during hot weather. I pretty sure it is a referred rattle from the fuel lines that run through the pillar base. Apparently a common problem on a lot of VAG models according to Briskoda complaints.

Coincidentally, it seems that the fuel line rattle is back on my car. This morning I decided to take the matter on my own hand and took off a rather long plastic cover underneath the driver seat. There is absolutely nothing to stop the line or rather lines (there are two lines, black and white) rattling against the bare metal. I stuffed (hopefully) enough insulation material to stop the lines from rattling.

Fairly easy job, 30 minutes max. You will need 10mm socket and Torx 25 bits.
