    Wagon boot mat/liner?

Has anyone found a cheap source for a boot mat/liner for a wagon? All the ones on ebay only fit the sedans from what I can find. I'd prefer a proper fitted one with raised edges, rather than cutting out a piece of rubber. I've been quoted $150ish for a genuine one from Skoda, but surely there is a cheaper source than this.

Skoda Octavia Combi II - plastic boot dish - original Skoda Auto, a.s. accessory : superskoda.com

I bought this one from memory and its really good. The aud to euro is favourable too! However, their delivery is a crapshoot. Took 3 months to get mine because it wasn't in stock or some BS and they only replied to 25% of my email.

3 months wait? ouch! I want to get one ASAP, as the first time I took the dog in the car she threw up in the boot hahah

    tootch,
The adage, "You get what you pay for" definitely applies to boot liners. Some may beg to differ, and that's fair enough, but IMHO bottom line mate, you've bought a current model sports wagon, is a $150 really too much to pay for a quality boot mat?

You can buy cheaper products online, or at a auto parts warehouse, but quality of manufacture varies greatly. Some are a lot more prone to heat, UV, and rips and tears than others. And then there's the smell, which is not only an attack on your olfactory glands, but anything continually smelling that strongly of chemicals can't really be all that good for you. Cheap is cheap.

I bought one from AST in Brisbane for Mrs. BS's Golf VI. I don't know if they have one for Skoda Wagons yet, but it might be worth a call. Great service, perfect fit, strong, and absolutely no odour whatsoever. At the time it was about $135, and I don't regret it one bit.

For what it's worth, when negotiating the purchase of my car, and getting to the point where the dealer wasn't going to move any more on the price, I got some goodies thrown in to finalise the deal. The boot mat, and netting was one of them. It might be $150, but it is as good as the one I got from AST, so again, IMHO, worth the money.

My dog doesn't like the back of the wagon either. Depending on who occupies the backseat, and how often, something like this might be a possible Plan B. Works for me, .... and the dog.

Thanks mate, I guess that was part of my question too, whether or not the genuine one was worth it. I don't mind paying $150 at all, considering what I've just spent on the car, just thought I'd get an idea

Might call up and order one today.

My dog is actually pretty good with the back of the car, I put her bed there and she stays there. I just have to remember not to feed her just before she goes for a long drive!

The genuine rubber one with the lip is well worth the money. I could only get the plastic type for our Sante Fe and a similar option in the past for our Mazda 6 and neither are as good as the rubber one. It fits in easy over the cargo hooks, stops things sliding around and is easy to roll up or bend if you need to split the rear seats. If you have a plastic one, you have to pull the entire thing out. Things also like to slide around on them. I had one in a Subaru outback and it was a PITA.

I tried a generic rubber mat from supercheap but I wasn't happy with the fit and got a genuine one.

    I have this plastic one.

I wanted the deep dish to keep the muck in the liner.

Things do not seem to slide on it and I have not had any problems with seats folding.

It only gets removed for cleaning and when I need to get to the spare.

I got it from the dealer and if I remember correctly it was comparable price wise to buying from OS. The shipping quote from OS was a killer.

I also have a rubber mat underneath it that can fold out to protect the rear lip of the boot.

If your dog is crate trained you will find that you can pack a heap of gear in there nicely. My dog travels alot in a crate, but when I'm lazy and just pop her in the back she is tempted to standup and look out the back window. The crate will save me lots of scratches.

I should clarify what I meant by using it with the split seats, because the plastic is usually rigid and deep, its a pain when you want to load something heavy through, ie flatpack stuff, with the rubber one you can either roll it out of the way or just lie it on top...it will squish.

I have the genuine wagon one.
    Well worth it.

Had a plastic one in the Sorento, was pretty good but as they say up there, stuff slides and its a real bugger if you bend it, cause it won't bend back.

Zero complains with the genuine mat. Cargo hooks are beaut.
I have a milk crate (I don't even know why) and a camp chair strapped down in the back and I never hear anything from them, even during P-plate driving.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Ended up ordering a genuine Skoda one. Will get it in a couple of weeks when the car goes in for its service.
