One of the reasons I don't really like dealing with dealers. Perhaps Lucas' bro could help you out?

BTW you could try using a 42dd spacer until you get the stage 2 tune. It can be purchased off carformance.

I politely asked him to enter the number into his parts system & promised to provide my VIN if we got to a point where an order was being placed.

The reply was $69 (ex or inc GST doesn't really matter).

Am waiting on a reply from Horton & Simpson Skoda in the UK if they'll ship to AU & how much. Their online price is <GBP15.

I think Lucas has a spare 42DD spacer

Fitted new plugs and a GFB DV+ last night the plugs are a Brisk brand and really different in design the have a silver based centre electrode and not platinum or irridium. The have smoothed the idle out a bit and feels to have a bit more pull when you jump on the loud peddle.

The new unit is on the right. The old plugs had done 60k km and still look ok.

With the DV+ the car seems to hold boost better my old valve was a rev g and still looked in good condition.

I did my plugs at 90k (which is the schedule in the owners manual & they looked "as new" too.

Those Brisk pugs look interesting. Looking forward to your feedback. What's the ballpark price?

The brisk plugs were about $70 delivered I got them of eBay. I need to drive a bit more with them. If you YouTube the there are comparison videos with normal plugs and these. The sparks are very different to normal and hopefully gives a better flame front in the cylinder.

The car is pre FL and manual.
Can anyone please tell me how I can determine which insert I require for my 2012 vRS Octavia Wagon TSI Manual?

    Hi Don,

Try the SPF3365-80k I think I wrote the p/n down wrong in my previous posts.
Don't go and order it without getting under and having a look. You don't need to pull anything off just park the car up on a gutter and crawl under. The dogbone bush is directly behind the windage/engine tray at the back.

The 80k is the durometer rating and I reckon its ok. The fact that I can get the power to the ground better now far outweighs the engine vibrations that I get.

    Cheers VJ.

And so it helped with reducing/eliminating axle tramping/wheel hoping too?

Also, any reason why you can't go with the 70k durometer one? I know it says for diesels only, but if you wanted to reduce vibrations further but still get some benefit/s over the OEM dogbone, couldn't you use the 70k one on a TSI anyway?

Yes helped with axle tramp big time, I would recommend anyone to do this mod. Really easy to do as well, once the car is in the air you can do it in about 10 minutes.

Instead of getting axle tramp the car sort of bogs down more. On a TSI and TFSI I wouldnt go anything less than the 80k.
70k means that it is softer for a diesel. I guess if you wanted to hang onto the factory refinement of a smooth idle then go with the 70k.
