    Vrs hdd

    HI All,

I just picked up my VRS last Friday- WOW. I love this car. I had a Subaru Liberty (Schmick version) but this blows it away in nearly every regard, even considering that one was 4 years older. All I have to do is wrap the chrome grille surround, not a fan of that! I just have a question regarding the HDD for the Octavia. I keep reading references to it, but does a VRS have one installed already, or have people bought this aftermarket? If it comes with, how do I load stuff onto it?

    Cheers, Witch.

when you say HDD do you mean the hard drive in the audio system?

depending on what year it is, it either came with an RNS510, or optioned with one. That has a 30GB had internally. check out the audio section for custom firmware if youre into that stuff.

you install MP3s onto it via the SD card slot

also, if you have the MDI, you can option it with a USB port and plug in a hard drive there too

If you use the custom firmware on here you will probably find it is a 40gig drive as well.

However I have 18 gig of music on mine and it would take forever for it to play everything.

You can only load MP3's and it wont rip a CD to the HDD either

I'm assuming mine is the Columbus, because the car has all the other options I can think of.

looking at the pic - it doesn't have xenons, nor front parking sensors

as the guys have already mentioned, it will have the word "Columbus" written just above the cd/dvd drive.
the columbus (rns510) was made standard on the vrs from my11 onwards.

    wat model year is urs?
