Yeah Brad is totally underrated. He's a top bloke. Haven't met him yet but from his posts he appears to someone with his head screwed on right.

To be honest Skoda would be nowhere without VW technology after it escaped the Iron Curtain in 1990. However also without the initial agreements from the Czech government we would never have seen cars like the Superb as they required high-value models to be built in the Czech factories.

    Catch 22
2012 Fabia II VRS Estate - APR stage 2 tune, Custom 2.5" turbo back full stainless exhaust with ceramic coated dump pipe, Harding Performance Cold air intake, Wagner Tuning Competition Intercooler, GFB DV+ diverter valve, Braille B2317RP battery, Eibach pro kit springs, Bilstein B8 shocks, Harding Performance F+R ARB, Super Pro bushes, Porsche 986 Boxster S front brake calipers, 330x28mm front rotors, Ferodo DS2500 front pads and Remsa rear pads, Enkei RPF1 17x8 et.35 with 235/40R17 Yokohama AD08R tyres, Maxton front splitter and Superskoda fender flares.

I suggest you take a look at what Skodas are fitted with as standard equipment in other countries and then see what we get as standard. Our models are generally well equipped.

VRS in UK has no cruise, no 3rd rear headrest, no electric rear windows, no climate control, multi function steering wheel, parking sensor. All are options.

It was the success of the well built Felicias and Octavias of the mid-1990's that prompted VW to buy Skoda in 2000.

At that time VW was losing European fleet sale tenders to Skoda, who had made a good name fast since The Velvet Revolution in '91.

The first gen Felicia and Octy were the game changers for Skoda, and were up and running 6 years before VW ownership of Skoda.

Older models I can't say, but not so the current model, which has the above as well as Bi-Xenons, black cornering lights, front assist, and lane guidance all standard.

VW bought 1/3 of skoda in '91, i think they owned 2/3rds by mid 90's and those 80's rear engined boxes were nothing to rave about.
    Rally cars werent exactly stock.
They were still cheap eastern european cars back then and really you might as well driven a lada, talbot etc

What are they planning on removing when most korean wonders are already better equipped and the japs probably not much behind.
