Hey all,
Having a rather large issue with my vRS.
Went to go out at lunch time and the display is coming up with;
"Button for driver assistance system defective"
and
"Error: Brakes Workshop!"
Seems these won't let the car start.
Any ideas? Seemed fine when I drove it this morning, nothing unusual.
Any way to reset these without a VCDS cable? Or is there anyone in the CBD that has a cable that can come and reset them for me?
Worst timing, I have to take my brother in law to the airport for an international flight in the morning!!
Well it went off on a flatbed to Richmond Skoda, where it was on Monday getting some warranty work done.
Funnily enough it appears they did a software update on it Monday. Coincidence?
They've been great though, I've been loaned a 103TDI Octavia until tomorrow to get me out of a pickle.
That has worked out ok then,
hopefully nothing too serious and just a software fault or maybe a loose cable into the interface.
Good luck!
Hopefully they sort it out quick, ours is due in on Friday for it's scheduled service and to fix whatever is going on that started last wk. hopefully it makes it in there ok on Friday but I have zero confidence Richmond will figure out what it is first time.
Dropped the loaner back at 10.30 and was surprised to find out that mine had been sorted. A blown ignition fuse! My take on it is that someone has forgotten to push home a plug somewhere and has shorted it, I can't think of another reason for it to pop.
I must say though Lisa and the guys at Richmond Skoda were great, top service and sorted it ASAP with a couple of decent coffees thrown in for good measure. Nice to have things sorted.
happy ending indeed.

Hopefully our exhaust light on is an easy fix. Weird for the kms it has done.
Well was told all was hunky dory, they fixed both issues. But when I was waiting to pick it up the car threw undoing fits and threw the code again on the dash.
They said it's the pcv and not an air leak they found between the turbo and air filter. How that air leak came to be is a question in itself as only they have touched those parts. Also then told me our seat heaters stopped working during the test drive.....and being 5pm nothing more was going to be done. Why mechanics leave finicky things to the end of day I'll never know.
PCV valve replaced, car is all happy.....half wondering if the Diverter valve was going to be up for replacement as well. 55ks in isn't the worlds longest innings. They gave up on the seat heater and said they need to pull the whole seat out to check it properly.
