Hmm yeah Tempe are drastically cheaper than anywhere else. I was planning on putting 2 PS3 s on but the Goodyear deal is attractive, I think the PS3s woukd be a better tyre though.

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
The Goodyear F1A2 and Michelin PS3 are very similar in both dry and wet
The Goodyear does have more dry grip but you have to push really hard to find out about it
The main differences are:
The Goodyear has a stiff sidewall, as such it has awesome initial turn in and steering feel
The Goodyear is more noisy
I got 55,000km out of a pair of Goodyear F1A2 on the front of my Octavia

Yes, I replaced all 4 tyres with PS3's when I purchased the car
While the PS3's are a wonderful tyre they don't have the turn in response and feel that I like
After using the PS3's for a few months I replaced the front two with F1A2 and was over the moon with the tyre
(I kept the PS3's from the front, I'll put them on the rear when they wear out)
I'm now running a pair of PSS tyres on the front
They are more comfortable and quieter than the F1A2
They have heaps of grip - very good in the wet
The turn in feel is in-between the PS3 and the F1A2

Thanks for the feedback .... I have no complaints about the Goodyear apart from needing them to warm up a little but had expected the PS3 to be better overall .... so I'll need to reconsider.

The PS3s are getting on a bit in age, I put them on well over 5yrs ago so wouldn't be surprised if they release something else soon as well.
My preference for the Goodyear F1A2 is because I have a motorsport and track day bias
I think most people would be very happy with the PS3

That's good to know - it really does seem like PSS => PS2 > Goodyear F1A2 > PS3
Shame I can't get the PS2 in the right size/load rating in Aus for the Focus ST but am keen to get something better than the F1A2 for the Focus.
However, I may reconsider getting the PS3 for my VRS and going for the F1A2 instead for it.

Ok got the F1 A2s fitted from Croydon, as there is a pay for 3 get 4 promo on I got them for $600 fitted for 4. The same as just two PS3. It was dark when I got home but it appeared there was that black gunk on the rim, hoping it's not a scratch but I could feel it and not get it off.
