Zero. Should be a warranty item

I had the same problem. The humming noise was so irritating! Aligned tyres at a specialist, still had the humming. Had my wheel bearing replaced under warranty. Fixed the problem

Also I have have had 2 blow outs on Conti tyres from new in only 13,000 km. both tyres were replaced. I reckon they are bad tyres. Soft sidewalls (both blow outs were in sidewalls). I will run the current set of tyres to the end of their lives then replace the whole lot with Michelins.

It cost me $160, I supplied the part which was $80 brand new, $80 for installation. Some mechanics won't fit them for their excuse is I don't have the right tools.

Wife got a sidewall puncture in the contis on her Tig today so had to replace the tyre. Turns out there's no contis in aus (in the Tig size) for 6 weeks so had to whack a Pirelli on. Tyre place said they can only put it on the rear as it's illegal to have two different tyres on the front. First I'd heard of this. Is this true?

Not in NSW - QLD may be different.

The only rule is you can't mix sizes or construction types.

Mix of brands / tread patterns isn't good practice but I doubt it's law.

What does the QLD RMS equivalent say on their website?

The tyre place I went to said that you can mix and match brand but they need to be in the same axle to be legal.
