    Tried another dog bone today

Spent a few hours messing around under the car to install this one
Unfortunately the cabin noise in first and reverse is too harsh
I reckon they got the stock one perfect from a comfort point of view

Now I have to find time to remove it!

    What a coincidence!

I fitted the remnants of your old one to my car this afternoon. Had to make a retaining tab for it as my car only had a 25mm washer - not a 75mm (or whatever it is). No idea if it made any difference - didn't drive the car (or start it).

I doubt the whole bush would fit - it looks different-ish.

    Koni struts go in tomorrow

Damn you got the hard one man. As discussed, i got the 75a version and even that one is borderline annoying me and thats in a manual. I can imagine the vibrating is worse in a DSG.

Yes, I wonder if the multiplate clutch has anything to do with it
Having tried a few options, you just can't can't go any harder with the DSG Octavia
Like you I managed to remove the stock one without damaging it

Bonus - at least you can re-install the stock one then. I think the inserts that work with the stock rubber mount are a good compromise. I may end up removing my HPA one but im going to leave it in for a few more weeks yet and make my mind up.

search engine mount insert. There are lots of brands & they do have some slight differences in physical shape & the density of the material.

    The shape changed in 2009.

They start about $40 on ebay but check out Black Forest Industries, APR, etc. There's probably a thread in the Gold section about the best ones.

They are all around the same price - a few dollars here and there different.

You can get Whiteline and Powerflex ones on ebay, and BFI (Black Forest Industries) through DubAddiction.
