Unhappy Transmission (dogbone or pendulum) mount upgrade

The stock transmission (dogbone or pendulum) mount has holes to allow some vibration
There are numerous after market inserts to make it firmer:

    APR

    Powerflex

    BSH

    ECS

    I've installed one - arggg - it's awful
Anytime the engine is below 1500rpm the cabin resonance is like having your ears boxed
Makes rush hour stop traffic harder to tolerate
Even when driving along at a nice cruising speed, you press the throttle a little harder, that short wait for the DSG to change down where the engine labours a little causes unpleasant resonance

It's going to have to come out I think...

Depends on what duro rating you get.

I have a Whiteline one from eBay which I think is rated only around 75, for the first 2 weeks I had vibrations through the brake pedal when stopped, and when reversing, but now it's not noticeable (only sometimes when reversing uphill).

The 90 duro one is much more race-car-ish and has worse NVH.

That's interesting, I thought my one was soft (70) but am not sure
I'll see if it settles in/down - thanks

Can I give it a try in my car & see how it goes?

You certainly can Brad - I'll see if I can have it removed on Sat morning

I must admit, the vibrations have calmed down a fair bit
Not sure if it's now seated nicely or if the grease has now done it's job
But vibrations and noise from idle, starting in 1st and reverse are still too intrusive for my liking

Do you wish to come over sometime & I'll remove it rather than paying to get it done?
