Things worth activating in Mk3 Octavias

These things come up in a myriad of threads which I keep jumping around to build a wish list so thought I'd check in case I missed something. They obviously have a list on Briskoda as well. I'm getting my RS with tech pack and auto boot in a week or so with sunroof so just working out what I will get use out off. Thought it might even be useful to use this as a summary of how to do them. I don't mind if someone stickies it and modifies how to do them below each one for others future reference. So far the following:

-traffic activation is a no brainer

-Seems the auto tail gate has some things turned off, what are the defaults and what is handy to change. I noted someone on the FB group had their wife driving and the boot auto opened while driving along and she had no easy way to close it.

-Anyone get rain closing to work? This used to be in the MFD in Mk2s.

    -Anything else I'm missing?

I believe rain close can be done with VCDS and soon to be available with OBD11.

I have enabled: Fan speed in auto mode on A/C, 4 flash comfort indicator, Traffic Alerts, Fuel volume to fill tank, Passenger mirror dip on reverse. Most of Rain close windows, just awaiting the last bit of coding in OBD11.

Mirror dip? I thought that only works with electric seats fitted? Isn't the fan speed auto already like in the mk2?

Did you activate all these in your MY14 car? Where is the Fuel Volume to fill tank displayed?

Yes i have activated all these on my MY14 Octavia. Mirror dip works on non-power seat cars, however it is not adjustable and a bit hit and miss on where it returns to.

the OBD11 guys are still working on rain close, so watch this space.

I activated the TMC (Traffic) Updates, fan speed display on auto, disabled stop/start and reduced the soundaktor volume by 50% <--- this alone makes the money spent on the OBD11 well worth it! (Yes I know I could've just unplugged the soundaktor...)

I need to do a few more tweaks this weekend. Has anyone disabled the cornering fogs?

Such a strange thing when you see features that were on the Mk2 only in VCDS now, ie fan speed shows in our Mk2 on auto, but the dials etc changed in the mk 2.5 so that could be why, the lights are on the dial themselves so its not a distraction. They show on the screen when you change them though briefly. Stop/start I will see how I go, its not a big deal for me. The soundaktor is likely something I will change but again will see how it goes. Traffic is a no brainer. Sounds like the mirror dip needs another module which comes with the electric seats so sounds more annoying to setup than not. In hind sight I could have easily afforded the comfort pack and regret not doing it, but the car is built now and on it's way to me in the next fortnight.

The rain close one is interesting, it was previously in the MFD, only really used it for the sunroof as noone leaves their windows cracked open anymore but stopped doing that as wind gusts set off the interior alarm a lot.

Just follow the Mk7 guide, it works exactly the same for MIBII units.

Saw that the OBDII has an option to lock the doors if closed and the keyfob moves away. Haven't seen this mentioned with VCDS anywhere though.

We couldn't get the auto tailgate to work, it wouldn't accept the password.
