    Things that annoy me !

OK, so I LOVE my car...but there are a couple of things that are really bugging me. Now it may be me - and I may be something wrong, so I would appreciate any input please

I have the full electric seats. I have a saved setting for the adjustments. BUT, every time - and I mean EVERY time I unlock the car, it flattens the seat level out. I have to then readjust it again!
I have tried following all the directions for saving a setting, and storing it in. Also with the corresponding key. But it still will not hold the settings.

The other thing I hate is the "stop-start" tech. on my very slightly inclined driveway, it turns off while the car is warming up, then will not just start again. I have to actually turn it on again.
So, is there some way to PERMANENTLY turn it off?

    Thanks all!

Mine starts with it off all the time, I haven't activated it once. There are a couple of videos on youtube:

    YouTube

I have no idea what they did???? It could be a combo of pressing the button three times turning engine off then repeat??

I haven't had time to program the seats as yet, I'll let you know If I have any issues.

Do you find the steering a bit too light? THat's my biggest annoyance!

Don't know about the seats as I am the only driver and have never saved any settings after setting it up to suit me and it never changes. but the stop start tech can be deactivated (not actually deactivated but stopped from ever activating) using an obdeleven. If the driver's seatbelt is undone whilst the car is running and stop/start stops the engine then you will always have to restart the engine manually. I guess the car thinks there is no-one controlling the car if the driver's seatbelt is unfastened. too smart for it's own good I reckon My gripe is the reflection I get in the side mirrors from the shiny surrounds on the dash!

Re: the seats, What I would do is restore the Columbus to factory settings and clear the key memories in the personalisation menu (there should be a restore keys to defaults button down the bottom) and start again. Don't forget to link "Driver 1" to the key you have in the car (presuming you only keep one in the car yes?) and making sure you're setting number 1 on the seat memory.

I thought that mode selection increased the steering weight as you progressed through eco normal and sport?
According to some Briskoda threads you can customise individual aspects like throttle and dsg change points to normal and steering to sport for the required heavier feel.
No modes on my basic Ambition manual. i live the simple life

    Great replies!
    Thank you all.

I will try all those suggestions.

As for TurboYoda's comment about the steering, I found that the dealer had the tyres to 45PSI at first. So I reduced it to 40. That helped.
Also, you can configure your own preferences in the settings as Gerry said above. So you should be able to change the steering to "sport" while other settings are to your personal choice.

Yep, I've had a play around with the settings, the 'Sport' setting helps a little. I think it's just the curse with modern cars with electric power steering. I wonder if there is something that you can do with an OBDeleven?

    More exhaust noise please!

Are there any Octavia facelift 169 owners who are able to get any DSG farts or burbles from the stock standard factory exhaust?
