    Thanks

Just wanted to pop by and say thanks. A while ago I asked for some advice regarding an Octavia RS, went to test drive one and found it to be a fabulous car particularly given the price. In the end though I came across as ex VW executive driven Passat at a price that was too good to refuse. Evenso I just wanted to say thanks for the advice I was given. Too bad I couldn't have both cars.

"Executive driven" haha I love that term, like they'd have you believe it was driven sedately by a genteel old chap before it got to you

Anyways I hope the Passat gives you many kilometres of satisfaction

At the end of the day, I know its still a used 1yo car, I thought its safer to buy a company car then one that has been traded in the reasons of which were unknown.

Its a Passat V6, it has 20000k's on it which is alot, but it was for just over $40000 including Satnav, rear view camera and memory seats.

Thanks, I hope it does too.

The RS ticked all the boxes except one, it wasn't AWD, and I found it was too easy to lose traction even in the dry.

The Passat sounds like it will be a perfect trade-in for a Mk3 Octavia vRS.
2012 Octavia vRS TDI. Darkside big turbo, 3bar tune, other stuff. 200kW/650Nm.
    1990 Mk1 Cabrio. 1.9 IDI w/ 18PSI.
    1985 Mazda T3500 adventuremobile. 1973 Superbug. 1972 Volvo 144 in poo-brown.
    Not including hers...

When I was in the used car business we used to sell executive driven cars with 30-40,000kms on them from a company called WTH Pty Ltd.
    I'll give you a hint.
In those days there was a company that used the slogan, "We Try Harder"

    How times have changed.

Back on topic I think a 20k Passat V6 for around the same money as a vRS would be a pretty good buy. It's certainly a different car than the vRS but a good car for the money none the less.

Haha...as the others have said..."executive driven".
The 6 Golf Rs and 5 Scirocco Rs we drove at Eastern Creek raceway for the VW Drving Experience days all had between 1000 -3000kms on them.
They were all going to be sold as "ex company VW executive" cars...

AFTER WE KILLED THEM ON THE TRACK...........
2018 Ralyee Green RS wagon. Fully optioned.
Previous vehicles:2015 Volvo V60 Polestar (my one detour from VW/Skoda!)
2013 Platin grey RS wagon / 2012 White Polo GTI / 2009 Black 125 Tiguan

Possibly but I've checked every Australian review I could find and the car has never been on any article I found, secondly I would expect a car like that to have less then 20000 km
