    TDI owners - Fuel question

A question for the QLD, SA, & WA based TDI owners, who has been using BP ultimate diesel?? Have you also tried the new Caltex Vortex Diesel and if so how did it compare??
Unfortunatly BP dont bring the Ultimate diesel into NSW as yet ( They have confirmed they will be but haven't confirmed a date of when), but found that Caltex have released their Vortex diesel in the NSW market recently. I need to do some driving to use up the current diesel in the tank so i can try out the Vortex stuff and se if there is any real world difference in economy and engine response......just thought I'd ask if anyone else has had a chance to try either fuel out??

We have tried it (in our Golf) and haven't noticed any difference in City Driving.

I've been running the BP Ultimate Diesel for around a year in Vic in my previous car and it added 40-50km per tank which was noticeable when I was getting around 530-550km per 50 litres previously.

As stated you need to run it for 2 or 3 fills before you see a real difference.

So far I have only put fuel into the vRS once and it's BP Ultimate.

    Edit: - 4/5/10

Well it looks like I haven't been using BP Ultimate after all. Upon looking at the pump I regularly use it's marked "Diesel" only not "Ultimate Diesel". Despite that the fuel improvements stand I've got the log books to prove it so either BP are supplying Ultimate Diesel without saying so or maybe even the standard BP Diesel is way better than the Supermarket Diesel I had previously been using.

Living in Melbourne we don't have the option of buying BP Ulitmate Diesel so I was always filling up with BP Diesel (the normal stuff). But a few weeks ago I tried Caltex's Vortex Diesel and I'm converted.

Compared to the regular BP Diesel there is definitely an increase in performance with Caltex Vortex Diesel - the mid range seems much stronger. Fuel economy wise its about the same.

Interested to see if others think the same.

    Cheers
