Picked up the car over the weekend, couldn't be happier.
The dealer has been taking care of me, Took me 2 weeks to get the car from the day I put my deposit down, as I was lucky the car was someone else's order, the person changed his mind and wanted a blue instead of white, so I took over.

They then had that as the used car area, but then ditched that idea. My former car which was traded in sat there for about 3 days and was sold.

Mine was delivered in the showroom itself, ie the used it as a display model up until I picked it up...back then it was a pretty basic pickup affair, just the car, no gifts etc. Hyundai were much the same, Ringwood and Penfold Mazda still set the standard for hampers, wine, flowers etc.

I picked up my car from Pennant Hill Skoda, no gifts from them either, I heard Lexus is the best at customer service, especially the Chatswood one, you get flowers/Wine for car delivery, even if you go for a service, you get free coffee and buffet in their lounge, it's ridiculous (in a good way).

but you are paying for it anyway. It's just more overhead that is non-core.

Some people like that kind of pampering. When i dropped off my dad's merc for a service in parramatta it was very pampering too. Felt awkward in my shorts and t-shirt. Lol

If they want a process to stick to, its the pre-delivery one so I don't have to come back. I understand some people love the reveal drama, but I'd told them all through the process I knew what I wanted and just wanted to get out of there as someone was baby sitting my kid 150km away. After arguing all the way through, the sales girl actually said "make sure you tell them I showed you the service dept". Why the F... would I care about seeing the service dept????

Actually the new Audi/Skoda workshop for Richmond now has a fridge full of stuff and a lounge full of pretentious Audi owners. They always had a coffee machine etc, but I value getting my car, being told what's done and then getting out as quick as I can over being in there. The new Eastside Skoda is right near my house, but really wish a better dealer franchise had opened than them. Their servicing guys are all going to be novices, at least Richmond Skoda had people with Audi/VW backgrounds to start with.

They all want to show you the service area now as they want to keep the money flowing in. It will likely be mentioned in a survey you get. I was shown it with my Hyundai, but the fact the girl didn't notice the fresh door ding in my car (They had it out in the forecourt with all the display models right up against one), the fact it was covered in dirt as it had rained on it that morning. And the best one was that there were still spiderwebs in the grill from whereever it had been kept so whatever detailing had been done was crap anyway. Also they didn't have the money ready for my tradein so left behind a spotless car for them with no paperwork or cash in hand. They then had the cheek to ask that I rate them highly on the survey that never came.

I was hoping Richmond were going to move into the bigger Audi space, but alas that is for the Lambos...

I had the car for almost a week now so I thought I might write up a little review.

The car only done 11km when I took delivery, and done 200km since, the drivetrain still feel very very tight, I have been using S and M mode 95% of the time, trying to vary the revs and have done many hard in gear accelerations (to around 4k to 5k) and enging braking. WOT in 2nd gear is so sensational, I have used every chance to do that, the torque available for this 3rd Gen EA888 is amazing, even for a stock car.

I like this car alot and I liking it more and more everyday.
