Spark Plugs Which ones for 2.0 TFSI

    Hi All,

Looking at replacing my plugs while im doing the R8 coli change.
The Bosch plugs that I am supposed to use are FR6KPP332S.

These are pretty expensive. Is there an alternative that I can use?

I have searched and cant find anything except for an NGK plug PFR6Q.
I have also found and recorded that a BKR7EIX will work, Im skeptical about this one though.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks Jason.

What do you call pretty expensive? I bought my last set of plugs from the dealer - they were about $23 each which isn't OTT for a 60k-90k service life.

NGK recomended plug is PFR7S8EG according to the NGK web site. If you give them a ring a real live Aussie based in Australia will answer the phone & tell you what's what.

By all appearances the Bosch recommendation is different to the NGK recomendation - kind-of. F6KPP332S is same as FR6KPP332S except for resistor.

Possible spark plugs for NGK PFR7S8EG:
    Bosch F6KPP332S
    Bosch F5KPP332SB
    Seat 06H 905 601A
    Volkswagen VW 101 905 631H
    Volkswagen VW 06H 905 601 A
    Volkswagen VW 06H 905 601A

Possible spark plugs for BOSCH FR6KPP332S:
    Brisk DR14ZC
    Champion RC8PYP
    Champion OE136
    Daihatsu 9004851166000
    Denso K20TT
    Denso IK20
    Denso PK20PRP8
    Denso VK20
    Eyquem RFC58LZDP
    Fiat 60569957
    Mitsubishi MS851346
    Motorcraft AGPR12PP8
    NGK PFR6Q
    Unipart GSP9652

If you know your engine code then you could buy whatever fits a GTI from the USA. Champion iridiums are only about USD7.50ea, Bosch are about $USD15

Thanks Brad for your reply, I guess $100 for a set to me seems expensive *insert tight arse here*

Platinum spark plugs aren't like the $4 units that go in your mower - you might get out of it for $18-20 if you shop around. Possibly cheaper from O/S. /looks on ebay... Bosch = ~$73 delivered for 4; NGK $66; Denso double platinum $56

I think the prime objective is to verify the partno. I've had wrong (too hot) spark plugs in a previous vehicle & it aint pretty.

Work out the correct partno, use a cross reference chart, pick your preferred brand & double check the partno on their website & trawl ebay / internet

You can get them from USA for about $60 incl delivery if you are happy to wait a week or two for postage. I just replaced the spark plugs in my GTI and used NGK Platinum PFR7S8EG (my friend also uses these in his 2.0TFSI Mk5 GTI).

Type that part number into ebay and you can save $30-40 right there. NGK PFR7S8EG Spark Plug High Power Laser Platinum Audi VW Turbo 1 8T 2 0T | eBay

    Search on ebay: http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_t...at=0&_from=R40

Does anyone else keep seeing "*insert tight arse here*" & doing a slight

That first link Lucas provided is what I found.

I'm a fan of NGK and would use them over Bosch.

I also like Denso plugs from back when I worked at Toyota but have no idea what they are like now.

    Thanks Brad,
My last car was a XT Forester, which required platnum plugs as well.
There was a brand of plugs on the market that I used that were $40-50 delivered and well used through out the Subaru community.

I guess where I was going with my request was if there were other alternatives from the plugs that seem to have been produced for this platform.

So your suggestion is the NGK's I have heard this from other sources as well.

Yes, I'd go with NGKs. If their good enough for Lucas R, they're good enough for me.

What brand were the scoobies using?

Subaru use NGK, also ND is a choice for many Japanese car manufacturers.

Sorry I told a lie with the Forester plugs. They were iridium.

The ones I used were these:
Subaru Performance Spark Plugs Iridium EJ20 Turbo Models BKR7EIX EQ | eBay

I was pretty happy with them and knew alot of other people who bought them as well.
