The sdcard needs to be formatted as fat32 file system. What is yours?

    Um...not sure?...
Sorry to sound so ignorant, but all I know is that it is a Sandisk 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo Card.

Is this the wrong sort of card?

It plays when installed into a computer etc, so I must have loaded it all correctly.

BUT when I install it into my Columbus, it doesnt recognise the SD card.

    What am I doing wrong?
You should use an SD CARD which is not the same as a Memory stick pro card Thats probably your trouble

As said above it must be Fat32 as a computer will read both but your sound system may not

If you dont know what this means perhaps you need to get some expert help with this.

It'll be FAT32 from the factory, asides the fact that I doubt he knows how to change the file format (), NTFS is no good on a 4GB drive anyway.

    Wrong type of card.
    Must be SD Card.
    SD, SDHC, SDXC.

    OK, cool. thanks again...
    (i'm not really stupid??!! haha)

    I'll buy an SD card.
Do I then need to format it first, or just do as I did with this other one?

Absolutely yes. You have tried to run your petrol engined Columbus by putting diesel into the tank. You need a SD or SDHC card NOT a Memory Stick card which is an entirely different type of card.

@Tigger- Push it in and away you go. Treat it like a USB flash drive, because thats essentially what it is.

iTunes purchases are .m4a, so it'll take a bit of trickery to get them into .mp3 if thats the way you obtain music.
