Slow after service - Octavia 118TSI - 2010
The car went through a service for 90,000kms and has been accelerating markedly slower ever since. The problem seems to be more time between gear changes. On take-off too it meditates a while before realising its time to go. Fuel economy as shown on the dash has improved. Have used 98RON for a long time so cannot be the juice. Any ideas learned ones? And thanks in advance for them too!

Was this serviced at a dealer? If so it's quite possible that it's had a firmware update applied.
The other thing that could have happened is if they disconnected the battery and/or reset the ECU and DSG and they are having to relearn. If that's the case you need to give it a bit of a thrashing and it should respond.
Just some sharp taps of the accelerator and some full throttle mixed in with some harder braking and it should "wake up". It's more the speed that the pedals are pressed more than how much that causes the response to change. If you hit it with rapid changes in pedal position it should get the idea that you actually want to go rather than taking it's time.

Thanks Tigger. Yes was a dealer and I did bring up the firmware update issue but apparently there was none of that. Also asked re the 'fuzzy logic' angle being a possibility but that too was denied by them. Will give the fuzzy a workout as advised by you as I have not tried that yet.
