Europcar have had rental Octavias for 12 months or so at least.
I took my Scout out today for a fun run, heading to Wombeyan Caves, taking the run through form Mittagong to Goulburn (boring motorway from Sydney, then a combination of open country bitumen, nice wide gravel, nice single lane winding gravel including some rough stuff). Nice that I don't have to worry with clearance on the Scout on the rougher stuff.
Saw 3 Octys, all FL - the first being a white elegance estate in Mittagong around 11am.
But it was the other which were surprising:
- another elegance estate in silver. Not surprising in itself, but it was a Europcar rental (Vic rego), and had been taken a minimum 25km of gravel to the caves.
- and a white Scout in Goulburn around 4.15pm. Again, not surprising of itself, but it was in full NSW Ambulance signage (Operational Commander), including roof lights.
Good to see Octys going slightly mainstream......

I was a little surprised at the fact it was a rental, but Europcar have done Audis and Subarus for a few years, so not so much. More surpised that the people renting it had taken it so far on unsealed roads, given the restrictions on that.
But the Ambo's car really threw me!

I've hired the Octy a few times now for work as I know what I am getting. Must say I was disappointed to get a diesel Jetta in Brisbane last time though, I don't know why, but I found the layout not as nice inside.
