This mob are in the UK but could still be useful if you know anyone over there or someone visiting there at the right time. I mean its not like you are going to see any Skoda wreckers locally any time soon.

I priced some parts from VW/Skoda before taking the plunge to buy a Skoda. I had been badly bitten by Renault spare parts (how does $400 sound for a single in-line spark plug coil, 6 of these for a V6 and they are known for their unreliability). How does $2000 in parts to fit new fan/utility belts to the engine sound?

Just as a comparison, the VW price for an in-line spark plug coil was around $100.

I had to put a new light fitting into my Superb glovebox. I broke it getting access to my bluetooth unit behind the dash.

The light assembly had a VW symbol on it and a VW part number. Skoda Spares in Penrith had it listed for $52 as a Skoda part and $33 as a VW part (They have service/spares for both brands in the one place). Needless to say, I bought the VW one.

Right there shows something wrong, Skoda parts should not be more expensive than a VW, it should be well and truly the other way.
