    Skoda Service Damage

Seeking thoughts and/or previous experience with the below issue.

I have been attempting to get my bluetooth audio fixed as there is static via bluetooth audio streaming. Each time I have taken the car in I have explicitly requested for the car to not be washed. This is as the car has been detailed/corrected and a ceramic coating applied. The latest time I had the car in, they proceeded to wash the car even with the request clearly expressed on the service card and countless promises from the service managers it would not be washed.

To my amazement, the car was washed with something extremely abrasive and now has swirls and marring through the coating.

The Skoda Service department have admitted guilt, however will only offer for their own contracted detailers to "polish" the car. I have expressed that the previous details cost and the type of coating, however they are refusing to cover the cost to have the car re-corrected and returned to its pre-butchered state.

Has anyone had a similar concern? I will be contacting Skoda Australia and the ombudsmen in the coming days.

There's no ombudsman for this industry.

Have you escalated it within the dealership? Perhaps the General Manager, or Dealer Principal for example? If you get no resolve are speaking to those two, then the next step is speaking with your state's department of fair trading, and see what can be done.

Skoda Australia won't do anything, besides request that the dealership do 'something'.

I requested my car not to be washed (has $2500 worth of ppf) at its 1000km oil/filter change.
Guess what.... Yes it was washed.... Then was told "we did not wash as per your request". It was still dripping with water!!!

Deailers don't care, we are just another number with $$$ to spend.
I'm very very tempted to go to a dad and Dave type of family mechanic because they actually care about cars/service.

I have 4 options, 2 in Brisbane, and 1 north (1 hour drive) or 1 south (1 hour drive). All of them don't fill me with confidence....

I wouldn't let my car come within cooeeee of a stealer service department. Several brilliant independent service guys in BRISBANE.

I'll be taking mine to an independent when servicing but had to for the warranty claim.

I'll get in contact with the dealer principle today and see how we go. My feel is they try to strong arm a lot of people around these kinds of issues.

Are they Skoda approved, in terms of maintaining warranty, electronic logbook access & diagnostics, etc, etc?

HPR230 & myself both have brand new cars - my initial impressions of the genuine Skoda service place I chose were not good, so I'll be giving the other ones a try for my next visit.... and if they're no good, I'd like to know some other options - provided it will maintain warranty and all the tech/diagnostic machines are available?

What warranty claim/work did you have?
Something we should look out for?

I took mine to Gold Coast for service, requested not to be washed and it wasn't.

Skoda told me as long as I meet the service intervals, and use genuine parts, within the warranty period it would be ok...that said, another friend who works as a service advisor for a dealership, and 10+ years as a senior mechanic (I won't name the dealership for his sake) noted many benefits to getting the car serviced at least within the service period at the dealer, which included a number of warranty claims etc outside of the warranty period under good will because of the previous service history etc.

Once my three years is up, my car will be going to somewhere else, within three years, it will go to Skoda to be serviced.

    flamey088,

That was my thoughts, I'll give the dealership the 12 month services or updates/warranty updates.
But 6 month oil might be dad and dave place...
