Can anyone advise what tyre pressure I should be running?
I've got a current Skoda RS petrol wagon with the 18 inch wheels with conti tyres.
I'm driving from Sydney to Adelaide this weekend on my own and was wondering what pressure I should set them to.
    Thanks in advance.

It's in the fuel flap but does the RS stil have the stupid 30psi recomendation?

If it was just me & a few bags - 36psi all round.
If the family is on board & a full luggage compartment - 40psi all round

Wow - the interwebs FTW, I was just thinking about adjusting mine again.

I bought some new tyres on Monday (P-Zero Neros), and the workshop put 42PSI in the front and 38 in the back. It actually didn't feel too bad, but I adjusted them to be 40PSI all round because I prefer it a bit firmer and have always run at that, but the RS actually felt nicer the way they had it, so my conclusion is the workshop knows more than me I don't know if I want 42 in the fronts, but I might put the back down to 38 and see if that feels better.

Pirelli have somewhat lost their way, they are generally not great on cost or performance

The P1 is nothing to write home about - it's safe and provides nice comfort
If you are prone to enthusiastic driving this tyre is unlikely to impress

Given the aggressive pricing of Michelin PS3 and Goodyear F1A2 it's hard to look at the rest

Martin is bang on. Goodyear F1A2, Michelin ps3 or continental cs5 or above are the tyres to buy. Pirelli doesn't even get a mention

I have a dislike of Pirelli bordering on pathological. I don't like the way all their tyres have the same name but do different things. I don't like the huge difference in performance / noise / etc between when they are new & when they are >50% worn.

For the money you can get a lot less of a lucky dip.

I assume they are mega-cheap at the mopment because Tempe won't even put a price on their site. Expect to pay $200-$250 for Michelin / Goodyear / Bridgestone (I'm not a fan of Dunlop either).

The Pirellis would have to be <$150 to make me take a punt on them. Lets face it, you have to live with them for 2-3 years. Make a mistake & your reminded what a tight-arse you are everytime you drive (generic "you" - not you personally)

Wow thats completely different from what the tyre stores told me

Seems every store tried to sell me P1 based on excellent performance, with comfort, quietness, fuel economy benefits and long wear life.
Seemed too good to be true? like a dream all round tyre.

Are they really that far off the mark?

Out of the above suggestions, is there any tyre that gives the above P1 claims? (great grip, comfort, quiet and long wearing?)
Whats the best price around for the Mich Ps3s?

    thanks
