Went down to my local Super Cheap Auto's today, to see what they had in the range of UHF whips. Just in case I ever need a replacement.
They have 3 types in store. Two are the same length, just different brands, and another one is about 1m long.

So, anyways, I ask the clerk if I can take it out of its packaging and attach it to the car, if it'll fit.
This is what it looks like.



... Perhaps a tad long, I think. Although, would be perfect for sitting in the middle of the highway, on the phone...

This is a whip I found in the garage - I think it was my dad's, back in the days of 27MHz AM CB and before mobile phones.
Either way, its a horrible mid-80's brown interior colour. You know the type. Like the cream interior, from yesteryear.

Can't get over how light the wheels are... Might copy The Speedfighter, and plasti-dip them!

I have had my wheels treated and sealed with the Nanolex stuff by a great guy from Nanotek car cleaning.

He cleans the whole car with a great range of products that protect the paint and keep the dirt from adhering too much...

Also, I had the wheels treated in a coating that is invisible and lasts for 6 months.
It means that the dirt and brake dust do not stick, and just rinse off with a bit of a hose down!...

Call Ian from nanotek Camden...great bloke. tell him you know me. (black Tiguan, White polo GTI and now Ocatvia)...he will look after you.

That looks awesome freshly polished and with the new tints. I miss those wheels, had them on my old A4.

thanks mate - Yes the wheels I do rather like - when I first got the octy I just knew the audi wheels would look good on it so I started looking for a set. There used to be a black A4 wagon with these wheels parked near a station along my daily commute, and it looked the sex.

I should post up a couple of new pics... put some 15mm spacers on the back so it looks fatter

The white one is for my work phone and the black one is for the UHF CB. I use that when convoying with friends and other members of Scouts Australia.
