I'm posting generically as this problem may be not limited to Skoda. Apologies if erroneous thinking.

Our recently bought Octy MY12 118TSI1Z, 109kM, was a gamble as it was bought unseen. Everything was (luckily) very sound, even the camchain Mk1 tensioner had only extended 50%.

As the weather warmed the aircon seemed a problem so we had it checked at Brooks in Wodonga with this result:

System gassed adequately; aircon produces 2 degs C into dash - compressor ok. Driver-side vent is 12 degs C; passenger-side 24 degs C. (Outside is @ 24 degs C) Condensation starting on passenger floor. So 'something' blocking vents inside dash?

Estimated cost: remove dash & check for problem: 4 hours to remove dash & replace=@ $540 (2 remove, 2 replace) & depending what is found @ worse-case $200 more, "ball-park." This seems reasonable compared to some of the threads found.

Searched this and other forums and found a scary bit that one thread spoke about some 'diverter-motor' $1500?

Thinking of doing the job myself but exploding airbags a bit of a worry.

Any comments would be welcome. Thanks.
