i have seen them all...If you drive a Holden a local muffler shop is fine - But we drive VAG and they require something a little more than holdens of ford falcons. lol
I'm going to leave this comment well alone.

The man does make a good point, you can end up with an unknown result with a custom exhaust, and an off the shelf has been through the trial and error, but so too any half decent exhaust shop has made a bijillion exhausts, and generally has a lot of experience. They can also change the system to suit then and there! It's easiest to get off the shelf, but where's the fun in that?

Well, the 3 into 1 Arrow exhaust on my Triumph was over $1500, but I see you can buy made in China ones on ebay for $299. Ha, I d like to see the quality on them.

I'm not entirely sure what point Macca Online is trying to make, but it could be because I'm still half cut from last night's work Christmas party... In any case, I'm sure if we wanted to know, we could "just ask!"

Anywho, the Jetex I ordered is on its way and I will hopefully have it fitted by the new year when then I can provide y'all with some videos and whatnot.

Long time reader and now an owner of new Golf GTI….Man awesome car moved to vw after many Alfas over the years….don’t know why I waited so long….

I saw this thread and wanted to share my experience – I know what macca’s saying about getting an exhaust made at a muffler shop ;-( ….I have just wasted 3 weeks stuffing around with a really bad experience of trying to save money by getting something made for my new gti…let me say.. waste of time….. nearly all of macca’s quotes came to bite me in the bum…

I had nothing but problems and it did sound absolute **** not to mention bad drumming at around 80k’s on m2 – anyway after much negotiating with the leading muffler shop – I won’t name them as they did refund most of my money … I found out about Jetex exhausts – even better they have distribution right here in OZ!...yes Jetex is now here.

So I decided to try a Jetex system…and got to say – it’s awesome – no warning lights like the muffler shop system…and just go’s and go’s… – there is a huge increase in power and it sounds brilliant. After I purchased this Jetex system, I even got some refund back as a special discount lol! they are looking for Models, car models that is and are offering discounts if you take photos and video of your system…man check this out email them info@jetexexhausts.com.au I’m very happy…also really enjoy this site…great work.

So, had a nice surprise today - the Jetex arrived! I caught my mechanic just as he was leaving for his Christmas break and we fitted it. Its a prick to remove the old one, but once off, the new one is very easy to fit.

At work at the moment, so only managed to have a short blast but it sounds great, looks great and the car has definitely picked up a few ponies (bum-dyno tested only). I'll try to have a video and some pics soon. Nothing like a nice burble on the overrun...

    did u get the 40-H9DR?

if u don't mind me asking, how much did u get it for?
on the jetex perfomance site, its showing as 405GBP (630AUD)

obviously shipping and fitting is another matter altogether!!

Yes, I did get the 40-H9DR. It fits both the TFSI and TSI models. I bought it from the Australian distributor Jetex Australia and I paid just under a grand for it delivered and fitted. You can fit it yourself, but you definitely need a hoist and some mad angle grinding skillz
