It LOOKS like its sitting lower, because it IS...
100kg of Neptunes in the boot will do that, especially when the entire interior contains a few magazines, a couple of phones and a wallet... And not much else.
Handles a little better - I'm guessing the new ones are a little lighter than the old. Braking is a lot better. Grips really strong when you first hit the pedal.
On the corners... Not so great. But that's down to these el-cheapo Rapid P906 tyres. They grip great on a straight line, but the sideways stuff... Lets not talk about that.
Would rather go back to my not-quite-so-el-cheapo Sava's. They didn't hold up very well in a straight line (lots of spin on gear changes, especially 1->2 and 2->3, but sideways they were miles better.
There was a balancing issue, but that only presented itself when I was near home. Went back to Tempe Tyres today and had them rebalanced for nothing.
I walked in, the guy turned around and knew me straight away, took the keys, marked urgent on the job sheet and I was in and out in about 30min. Feels perfect now.
Road noise... Again, lets not talk about that.
Its very loud - but its always been loud.
I had a ride in Lex's sedan and was amazed by the silence. Maybe its just a diesel thing?
I drove down an alley tonight, with high wooden fences on either side... Literally about an hour ago, so dead quiet. Not even trying to make noise - my turbo is so loud now.
Not so sure if thats a good thing on a quiet night!!
Hahah - cheers.
When I lined them up against the car, I loved them... But when I was sitting down whilst the work was being done, I was worried... Went outside, saw only one on the car and instantly loved it.
Looks better in the flesh.
Yeah - After the bloke at Tempe Tyres mentioned they had both 225/40R18's AND 225/45R17's for $89 I thought "Bugger that, 18 it is!"
Also - they'll match my headlights perfectly.
