    Skoda badge recall

As per this thread Factory Recall of front and rear 'Skoda' emblem badge due to falling off. for the Superb, seems the same recall affects the Octavia.

After reading that thread I had a look at mine and lo and behold the rear one was peeling. I had the car booked for a couple of other warranty issues and mentioned to them about the badge recall, something they said didn't affect the the Octavia but they did say they'd look at it and confer with VWA.

Picked it up and sure enough they've replaced both badges under the recall, might be an idea for everyone to have a look at theirs! The peeling is mostly noticeable around the outer chrome ring.

I've probably got the oldest Skoda here (2007 build). Badges are fine.

You can get the new style cheap as chips on Aliexpress - about $17 for 7 (F & R + 4 wheels + steering wheel)

UV issues? The Europeans don't seem to have a clue how harsh the sun is in AUS.

My vehicle lives undercover at home & only gets parked outdoors at work 2 days a week. It spends about 20hrs a week driving about so compared to many, I probably don't cop as much UV.
