Had a quick search for Greg Roles and couldn't find him
I just typed in Dieselgeek into the search bar - It's not immediately obvious but if you sift through the first 2 pages...

    Short Shifter

Did you end up getting a short shifter?
I'm also thinking of getting one but I'm not sure what type.

    Re: Short Shifter

So I tried to find this part at vw, and Audi, but they couldn't find it... I found a thread on this forum or another Aussie vw one but now I'm having trouble bringing it back up through my history...
They said it just replaced the part below, had oem waranty, shortened the throw up down by 20% and only cost $50....

    Anyone know about it?

    MountainBikeMike's Skodaru

So this is where Im at. Short shifter from previous post as well as 42DD bushings installed!!!!

$46 seems to be a lot better than the $249+ shipping that APR were charging.

    Success
