Service suggestions on Lower North Shore Sydney

Our "new to us" 2010 Skoda Octavia vRS DSG is up for it's 90,000km service in a few weeks. It's the first time I've had this one serviced. I used to take my 2007 Octavia vRS to Pacific Motors in Pymble and could not fault their work. Have since moved closer to the city and would like to find someone around the Artarmon area. It was looked after by VW Village prior to us buying it and has an extended Skoda warranty.

Any recommendations for good service centres around Artarmon?

Also does anyone know how warranty works if not at a Skoda dealer? I believe the previous owner had some major warranty work done at VW Village under the Extended Warranty.

Warranty isn't affected by who services it.

I've used Williams and Wood in Artarmon both our VW cars. I always discuss the issues with Bob there. He is honest and will tell you if it needs to be taken elsewhere if he thinks it needs specialist expertise.

Yeah - these guys are really awesome - very experienced and good to talk to
Derek has been a mechanic in a UK Formula 3 team, Cameron is very experienced in VW
The other mechanics are intelligent and capable

Once I was there and noticed them servicing a Mk3 Golf which was in dreadful condition, it was filthy inside,
putting the protective covering over the seat protected the mechanic from the interior, I felt sorry for the mechanic.
But I was impressed with the diligence that the mechanic put into this car, checking his work,
checking the safety of the car underneath and the way he test drove it.

They are a little out of the way for me but they are my favorite VAG service centre

The extended warranty is probbaly more like an insurance policy. The only way you can tell how it works is to read the PDS / terms & conditions. It is almost unknown for a non-dealership workshop to carry out any type of factory warranty work so I can only assume it's an "insurance policy" type product.
