Searching for an Octavia RS DSG Wagon

    Hey guys,

Getting in early with the better half and purchasing a compromise between fun and performance (Me!) and safety, practicality and cheap to run (Her!) so in the market for an RS.

Have been actively looking and have a price range of no more than $41,000. We are not really fussed with which model year, sat nav or no sat nav, just after a Petrol, DSG Wagon in anything but yellow or silver. Still not completely ruling out the liftback, apart from the fact i like the look of the Wagon better and can fit more in.

Are there any dealers on here who can help me out or any owners who know of any out there. have been searching tirelessly and they just seem to be all liftbacks or Diesel.

I have been quoted $42,700 drive away from Wes at Trivett (top bloke!), for a new MY11 in Anthracite. Dont really want to wait the 4 months for it to be built and shipped as i want it NOW!!! but this might be my best bet.

any help or advice would be great from you guys, considering you have all been there and done that.

    thanks,

    Josh

    Hey mate,

yeah i have trust me-tirelessly. they all seem to be very expensive, considering my quote from Wes.

unless they are willing to drop the price about $5K!

Generally they have $4k to fiddle with on an RS , have you considered a low KM demo , would get under $40K and then hammer for a 10% disc .

Good choice of car , i have had mine for 30 months and love it , great drive with good economy .

    Best of luck

We were originally after the Wagon Petrol in Manual, couldn't find what we wanted anywhere and landed on in Liftback. Sure the wagon has some more room but the boot is still massive in the liftback and don't regret my choice one bit

What has happened to all the vehicles that were used in the Tour Down Under? Surely they aren't sitting in a yard somewhere waiting for next year.
I would have thought that they should be starting to hit the dealers lots by now.

I was wondering about that one too , solitaire in adelaide had an infusion of about 6 low ks wagons late january , now all sold , but other states must have picked up some , seems odd .

Suggest you email all the dealers in NSW and ask what stock they have, or have coming soon. You may find there's a few demos around that haven't made their way onto carsales.com yet.

I saw one near Wollongong about a week ago and it was covered with decals. I bet they had a hard life with support crews living in them for the period of the race and not owning them.

There were plenty of vehicles that were not used by support crews.
