    Scout supplied with part missing

At my scheduled 15,000 k sevice I was informed by the Service Centre at Newcastle Audi that the vehicle was missing a major part! - the aluminium undertray.

They suggested I contact the Dealer who sold the vehicle, Southern Classic Cars about the problem.

After 2 weeks of persistent calling, SCC eventually supplied the part to Newcastle who fitted it in 30 mins while I waited.

No explanation as to why it was missing from SCC but Newcastle Audi were brilliant.

That seems very weird. Makes me think that they removed the aluminium tray before you got the car for some reason and forgot to put it back on? Otherwise you probably would have had a 3 month wait (shipped from czech) on the part like most other owners have had on replacement parts?

Yeah its weird. No idea what happened and no explanation from the dealer. No apology either! I could have damaged the vehicle had I taken it offroad. Fortunately its been a brilliant car and I am less inclined to rant about it though I have every right to .

Definitely every right too, it's a brand new car. It would be standard practice to have a part replaced under warranty because it's faulty - not because it's missing!

Yeah its all a bit strange and I am really concerned that a dealer would do something like that and the sell the vehicle without the part. Anyway all's well that ends well as they say but it pays to get a new car checked prior to delivery!
