    RS162 MY15.5 air conditioning

    All,

Recently I've been having some issues with the air conditioning in my RS. I find that some days it doesn't blow any cold air or when the a/c button is off the a/c works.

    Anyone else had similar issues?

Yes, I had the same issue. Took it back, they told me a software update would fix the issue. I was sceptical, but it did.

What a timing, just posted on another forum as well for an AC issue.

This is my first summer with the Octy, so I've only just noticed the problem. My RS' AC lags for around 10-15 minutes before cold air starts to blow. It seems to be doing this when it switches from heating mode to cooling. After it is in cooling 'mode', it is fine for the last few days so far... maybe until the next cold days.

Good to know I'm not the only one. Will have a chat to the local mob and see what's going on.

check your aircon setup settings. there is a low med and high setting for the compressor. I also posted a reply on whirlpool about this.

Thanks Reichter, it appears to be set to medium so next hot day I'll set it to high and see if that does it.

I wouldn't have ever thought there was an A/C setting guessing its just Mk3 as I don't recall anyone ever mentioning it in the Mk2s before.

As soon as you look for the button it becomes obvious. It's a dedicated button, never noticed it before. I'm sure the dealer told me about it but I was too busy thinking 'shut up and let me drive'

So is this only for Mk3 or does it apply to Mk2 cause I've been complaining for some time that my Mk2 AC is crap.

I can't comment if the mk2 has it or not, as I've never had one or been in one.

Tenyear, did it make a difference changing your settings? It definitely made a difference for me between low, med and high settings. The fan speed dictates how fast the air moves into the cabin. The compressor setting dictates how cold the air is going into the cabin. I hope that all makes sense.
