    RS TDI oil Filter?

Anyone know the Part No. or aftermarket equivalent of the Oil filter for the 125kw TDI motor in the F/L Skoda Octavia RS??
I'm assuming the VW 2.0 TDI 103kw Ryco listing of R2615P should be the same??
I want to do an oil change on the Skoda to clean up the oil a bit before the drive over easter. The motor has a little over 6000km's on it now and the oil is looking fairly average, time for a freshen up. Already have the Shell Ultra Extra (VW507 spec) oil ready to go, just need the filter now.........

    Hi mate,
Get the oil filter from the dealer. Genuine VW filter is superior to the RYCO filter. Genuine one should be the Pureflux (it has larger filtering area, let alone the quality of the filtering media), if you see it you would not want the RYCO.

Ryco could be even dearer than original!

VW P/N 071 115 562 C (Purflux L267A) or Mahle OX 188D ECO (it should be around $20 or less) get more than one you could save money and time.
if yo go to the dealer make sure you have the VIN with you.

Its not worth the warranty isues if something goes wrong and you have an aftermarket filter fitted, just to save $10.

You don't save anything, since the Ryco price for that R2615P is $24.20 inc. GST, but it is most likely wrong filter anyway.

Air filter and oil filter is reasonably priced so no one should really buy non genuine filters for the Skoda or VW Golf.

Thanks guys, was only using ryco as an example, just wanted to see what else was out there.
Found out Audi do the parts supply for Skoda here in Newcastle and they have the Oil filters for my car in stock for $18.05, will be grabbing one tomorrow.

I wish I could buy oil and air filters for my motorcycle as cheap as the Skoda ones.

A Nissan Pulsar oil filter fits my Triumph motorcycle and is about $11 cheaper.
