RS MKII Custom Cat-Back Exhaust Swap

    Gents,

Already posted this in the classifieds, but if anyone is interested, I have a custom 3" Cat-Back exhaust that I would like to change back to stock. Happy for a trade with some change over. Link below:

Also I have a couple questions which im hoping you guys can answer:
    - Can the wagon exhaust fit onto a liftback and visa-versa...?
    - Suggestions for acquiring a stock cat-back system if there are no takers..?

    Cheers,

    Daniel

i don't wish to diflate ur balloon - i had a lot of difficulty finding someone who had the "right one" lying around!!
it was only 2 or 3 month ago when i was looking at going back to stock exhaust (just the catback section).

in the end i decided to keep my apr - missus doesn't mind now.
here is a link to the discussion thread i had started.

    pm this guy - VWJetta
he was selling his stock catback section, from his jetta - not sure if he still has it. he's in sydney area.

    to answer ur questions...
    1. yes a wagon and liftback exhaust is interchangeable
    2. other options, as i said above - u can fit one sourced from a Jetta 147.
also keep in mind u'll need a 3" to 2.5" reducer.

can i ask why u changing back to stock catback?

If you click on his link in his original post it tells you why he's wanting to go back to stock.

Camden GTI has an Octavia sedan in their yard the last time I was getting a service - I assume it's being parted-out.

Otherwise you can get the exhaust people to build you a stock 2.5" system of just constrict the last bit (rear muffler) to make it sound less "sporty"

Building another system will cost more money which I am trying to avoid... Even putting on a bigger rear box will cost more money than going back to stock if I can find one... Thats why im hoping that there is someone out there potentially looking to swap their stock for a customer job if they want some more sound..

What happened to your stock exhaust?

I have all my old bits packed up in my shed ready for re-install if I ever need to.

The guys at the exhaust place were just going to chuck the old stock unit in the scrap metal bin...

One of the other guys fitted an APR Jetta exhaust to his Octy sedan so I assume it goes back the other way too
