Its not actually an active TPMS system (i.e. a sensor in each wheel) - its "passive TPMS"
It detects the rolling diametre of the wheel and if its too far off, it'll start flashing its little light.
Whenever you: get new tyres; get new rims; put the spare on; pump the tyres up; etc - you must reset the system so that it doesn't scare the hell out of you.
